Our Custom Bracing Process
Step 1 - Brace Consultation & Assessment
Book a complimentary brace consult with Dr. van de Wall to examine and diagnose the affected area. If a brace will help, he will refer you for a brace measurement appointment.
Step 2 - Brace Measurement & Ordering
Visit our in-house bracing expert and kinesiologist for measurement and ordering.
Step 3 - Brace Fitting & Pickup
Once your brace arrives, we’ll call you for a brace fitting session to ensure your fit is perfect.
Getting Your Brace Reimbursed
Most health insurance providers cover the cost of a medically indicated custom brace. Follow the steps below to make sure your brace gets covered.
Note that extended health providers do not allow for direct billing of a custom brace (you must pay out of pocket and get reimbursed).
Check your extended health plan to find out if you are covered for a custom brace for your injury. Find out the dollar amount they cover, and what type of prescription you need to get reimbursed.
See the right healthcare provider to get the prescription you need. For example, your extended health provider will let you know if you need a prescription from a medical doctor or chiropractor.
Once you understand your coverage and reimbursement, book your bracing appointment to get assessed and measured. When your brace arrives, submit your brace invoice and prescription to your insurance company to get reimbursed.
